Earlier this week, our friends and local musicians Towers and Trees launched their debut single “West Coast” from their sophomore album of the same name. The single was made available exclusively to their Kickstarter backers while the debut of the music video was only on Exclaim!
While the single “West Coast” is a departure from the sound of their previous single, “Montreal,” it is sonically in line with the rest of their previous album, “Broken Record.”
“West Coast” shows maturity and an evolution of Towers and Trees music. A type of maturity that comes from the cohesion of touring band. Towers and Trees eats, breathes, and sleeps music, but without compromising the strong bond between the band members as friends and family. “West Coast” is by far one of the strongest tracks the band has put out, and without a doubt will be a strong contender for radio airtime across this country.
In late 2014, Towers and Trees took to crowdfunding website Kickstarter to finance the recording of “West Coast.” Their modest campaign goals were fully funded within hours of the launch. This support from the local music community gave the band the extra boost of energy and excitement to not only record their record, but plan for a big 2015.
While the album is being mastered, the band works towards its release later this year. The band has promised a big announcement on February 3rd, 2015. The album will be available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl.
