Canada seems to be producing some of the most interesting alternative western acts out there right now. Creating outlaw mystery men like Orville Peck and now the exquisite Bobby Tenderloin Universe.
“Sandpaper One Side, Rubber on the Other” is a reflection on the duality of modern masculinity. Bobby Tenderloin brings a unique voice and insecurities that come with contemporary manhood while harnessing deep country routes in his debut single.
The hallucinogenic music video finds Bobby Tenderloin on a journey of self discovery and by the end in need of rescue by an unlikely friend. 
The story of Bobby Tenderloin is one of legends, mystical death, a sacred transfer, a cosmic continuum. It is written in the stars and hearts of every being that ever was, is, or will be.
We faced a few challenges in the making of this video. Other than the rain, the biggest challenge was how we showed up to our location the first day only to find that the whole island we were planning to shoot at in the North Saskatchewan River was under water. But working through this somehow even further bonded Liam and my friendship and, with the help of our pal Nickelas Johnson and a lot of elbow grease from all three of us, we managed to get all the shots we needed in the two days that we had.
