Sometimes, a situation which appears to be a series of unfortunate events can lead to something wonderful.
Due to a myriad factors, including time and location disparity, with some last-minute scheduling difficulties thrown in, it was looking like a fruitful shoot with June’s Band of the Month, Wise Youngblood, may not happen or, at the very least, may be rushed and not up to our usual level of quality and mood to suit the band.
However, what it showed us is that we need to explore our own backyard more. Rocktographers Kirsten and Bud, who also happen to be Zoners, explored the area around The Zone @ 91-3 (Quadra/Hillside) and found no shortage of wonderful locations to walk to in under an hour, all while getting to know this Nanaimo four-piece.
There were cool vans, core workouts, lime green blaconies, and one lady pushing five dudes on a merry-go-round . . . all leading to a great shoot.
