Rifflandia is less than a week away!

With Electric Avenue buzzing in our brains we dove deep into the the line-up to find some of the acts we are most excited about seeing. With huge acts like Run the Jewels, Paris Hilton, Chromeo and so many more some acts slip under the radar and these are some of the ones we think you should check out.

Also, check out our other Who To See guide for The Park and our Rifflandia Mixtape to get you ready for two weeks of non-stop dance parties. September Forever!

x/o

Base 2 Stage – Thursday, September 7th – 7:00 PM

Electric Avenue will meet the sounds of twisted metal, ambience, and electronic as Vancouver’s x/o closes their Summer tour with a stop at Rifflandia. The creative mind of this multidisciplinary artist shares a dark & beautiful soundscape in all their mediums. Rifflandia will be experiencing x/o’s live performance which should showcase work off of their recent Precious Metals release, Chaos Butterfly. From DJ sets in Berlin to live performance sets in our own locale, x/o is definitely a world class artist you will want to check out.

Pony Gold

Base 2 Stage – Friday, September 8th – 6:00 PM

West Coast alternative country band, Pony Gold are a late addition to Rifflandia’s Electric Avenue to be excited about. Recently finishing up their tenure as The Zone @ 91-3’s August Band of the Month, fresh off a BC tour and with their debut album, Take Me Somewhere, out on September 22nd – Pony Gold is a band on the rise. The band led by singer and songwriter, Theresa Bromley and guitarist, Matt Bromley create luscious and dynamic tunes that feel timeless yet modern. Pony Gold shines live and will command the attention to attendees of Electric Avenue. We have a lot of nice things to say about these two and not enough time – check out our interview with them.

Xana

Base 2 Stage – Friday, September 8th – 10:00 PM

On a blustery late May evening in 2021, Rocktographers was introduced to Xana as part of her Band of the Month photo shoot and ever since we’ve anxiously awaited to see her perform live. Blurring the lines between pop, rock, electronic and alternative genres Xana creates a world uniquely her own while staying relatable. With many of her songs capturing themes of LGBTQ romance, female empowerment, sex positivity, self reflection and discovery. Xana will be making her (hometown) Victoria, BC debut headlining the Base 2 Stage – a set that won’t be missed by her adoring masses.

NAHDUH

Electric Avenue Main Stage – Saturday, September 9th – 5:00PM

Venus powered girl group NADUH will be here to bring the rambunctious R&B vibes to Electric Avenue. The Vancouver five piece recently rocked Phillips Tilt! Backyard Weekender and are ready to dazzle the Rifflandia crowd with their energetic hip hop grooves. Their debut EP Homiesexual from 2020 got the gals nominated for R&B Artist of the Year at the 2022 Western Canadian Music Awards with their empowering lyrics and smooth harmonies. If you ever miss the Spice Girls, thought they should try psychedelics and twerking, then you NEED to see these women in action.

So Sus

The Dome (Westwood Showcase) – Saturday, September 9th – 7:00 PM

Over the past few decades, Vancouver has seen the development of a pretty incredible electronic music scene. Producers like So Sus come to mind when thinking about this scene. Their work has been released on some big electronic labels, including Monstercat & Deadbeats. Rifflandia is one of the many festivals that So Sus will be blessing this Summer. Expect heavy drops and wavy sounds from this set, as they take you into their mind. The Dome is going to get crazy, this is your warning not to miss this.

Blu DeTiger (DJ Set)

Electric Avenue Main Stage – Saturday, September 9th – 8:00 PM

When it comes to talented bass players today, New York City’s Blu DeTiger cannot be left out of the conversation. The indie-rock artist, most known for her 2021 release, How Did We Get Here? will be joining the festival for a DJ set on the Electric Avenue Main Stage. Don’t let “DJ Set” fool you though, DeTiger’s bass skills will definitely be on display in full frame. Get ready for some smooth bass lines over incredible mixes that will leave you wanting more from Blu.

LŪN

The Dome (Westwood Showcase) – Saturday, September 9th – 10:00PM

As if alt-pop legend, Lights wasn’t already one of the coolest and hardest working musicians out there she dropped her heavy hitting electronic alter-ego, LŪN. With the release of her debut EP, haha i like it, she received well deserved accolades from the music community for the bombastic and heavy-hitting sounds. The praise didn’t stop there with her follow up, fuck ya go us. Westwood’s take over of The Dome at Electric Ave. isn’t ready for this set and neither is Victoria. We can’t wait to dance our hearts out to LŪN’s set.

Time is running out to get your tickets to Victoria’s premiere music festival – don’t miss out on one of the year’s best parties! Get tickets at Rifflandia.com
