Today, Rocktographers is excited to offer an exclusive premiere of the highly anticipated debut album, Everybody’s Getting Married by JAYA.
JAYA (AKA Jaya Bremer) has fronted the Victoria-based indie rock outfit Wise Child for several years, but has now struck out on her own. The seven song record Everybody’s Getting Married is atmospheric, introspective and filled with hidden details that can only truly be appreciated with headphones on.
The album release is paired with a new music video made from nostalgic vintage film footage for JAYA’s single, Mine.
“This album is the culmination of many years of writing. It was an exercise in stepping away from my bandmates to discover what I sound like and what I am capable of on my own. Creating this album from start to finish has helped me grow and explore tones and sonic landscapes that are deeply linked to who I am. It weaves together feelings of moodiness and melancholy with quirkiness and a playful side. There are raw and imperfect moments that I would never change because they capture a realness and a sense of intimacy in the recordings.”
