Boy Leadfoot is Max Gordon, Ben Garrison, and Jack Pasay. They make fun alternative rock music with heavy blues and soul influences, and they get the special opportunity of rounding off 2018 season of The Zone’s Band of the Month program.
Before our Band of the Month shoots, we like to talk with each band about what they’re looking for, and direction they’d like their promo photos to go. We want to make sure everyone is happy. When we reached out to Boy Leadfoot, we got an email that simply said, “colours & rooftops are neat!”
Fast forward to a week later when Rocktographers Kirsten and Tyson are standing on the top of a parkade in the heart of downtown Victoria, lighting off smoke bombs with Boy Leadfoot, all of us slightly paranoid we’d get in trouble, but willing to take the risk on a late July evening.
Frontman Max Gordon’s energy was unmatched to any other Band of the Month shoot we’ve done. It was like he was literally vibrating with excitement throughout the hour we spent with the band. Always striking a new pose and doing interesting hand gestures it made for a evening doing band promo feel like hanging out with new photogenic friends.
On Friday, August 10th Boy Leadfoot will be supporting Australian folk-roots band Mapstone at Vinyl Envy. The concert is all-ages and tickets are $10 at the door. More event details can be found on Vinyl Envy’s website.
Find out more about the band and download three of their songs for free on The Zone’s website.
