Spirit of The West is really about SPIRIT.
On a rainy Tuesday night in Nanaimo, I was able to catch the band on their final Vancouver Island show during their farewell tour, a tour which plays its final shows this week in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom.
Yes, I shed a few tears. John Mann and Spirit of The West have had a huge impact in my life. It was September 2014 when John revealed that he had been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. I am inspired with his resilience in the face of adversity and am in awe of his courage and spirit.
Thank you Spirit of The West for sharing your gifts with the world. I wish you all the very best in the next chapter of your lives. Time to go ‘Home for a Rest.’
