Sloan returned to Victoria on April 21st, 2016 on a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their record One Chord To Another.
Billed as An Evening With Sloan, the band performed two full sets, first playing One Chord To Another in its entirety. After taking a short break, they returned with a handful of Japanese bonus tracks, b-sides, and hit singles from their storied career.
Throughout the night, the band routinely swapped instruments, giving Chris Murphy a chance to wail on the drums while a bare-chested Andrew Scott (with Vietnam poorly drawn in marker on his stomach) took over lead guitar and vocals. A bearded Patrick Pentland looking more like J. Mascis was joined by the crowd of die hards, singing along to every song.
This tour is as much about celebrating 20th anniversary of One Chord To Another as it is celebrating the band’s lasting success as one of Canada’s premiere alternative rock bands.
