Canadian pop punk outfit Seaway ended their Western Canada run this November in Vancouver, BC with tour mates Youth Fountain and First Ghost in tow. Also joining the show were Vancouver locals Chase Your Words and Chief State. The show may not have been sold out, but the main floor of the Rickshaw Theatre was still packed and attendees were passionately singing along to each and every song.
Sometimes it can feel a bit repetitive to have so many similarly influenced artists on the same bill, but each band did a great job of standing out from one another. Locals Chase Your Words threw in a cover of Year 3000 by the Jonas Brothers (or Busted, depending on who you ask…), while Chief State brought their wild energy to the stage. First Ghost mellowed things out a little, while Youth Fountain maintained their fervent energy and switched instruments throughout their set in front of a hometown crowd. The night’s headliners, Seaway, brought their A-game as well, and it’s hard not to want to dance around to their infectious 2017 hit, Lula On The Beach.
