As the second day of Song & Surf rolled in so did the sunshine. Crowds gathered on the beach in front of the Big Fish Lodge to warm up by the fire or soak in Anián’s hot tub.
Afternoons at Song & Surf are filled with intimate performances in very special places in the community. Like Kirsten Ludwig and Fox Glove making beautiful music in a recently refurbished church. Man Made Lake brought the rock to the Big Fish Lodge as the Pacific spilled out behind them.
It’s not until the main night venue opens that the real party started. Costumes and dance parties are fuelled by bands, DJs, and by some not quite legal substances. Saturday night at the Song & Surf Stage felt like more than double the amount of people were there than the previous night. This was great for Dope Soda and headliner, Jesse Roper.
There is only one more day of beaches, bands, and beers for Song & Surf. Tomorrow night will be capped off by a special performance by Yukon Blonde.
