We Hunt Buffalo at Lucky Bar

We Hunt Buffalo graced the stage at Lucky Bar April 9 to lay down their signature hard-hitting psych-rock, before departing on a European tour this spring.

Despite calling Vancouver home, WHB seem to have successfully harnessed that twangy, psychedelic/southern outlaw sound that wouldn’t be out of place in an episode of Sons of Anarchy. Living Ghosts (which released last September) is no exception, with loud drums and booming bass leading seamlessly into hypnotic grooves and progressive stoner riffs throughout the album.

Starting things off were Victoria’s own Buzzard. If you like beards and stoner rock, do yourself a favour and check out these guys out. It’s always great to see how much talent there is in Victoria.

Following Buzzard, War Baby — also from Vancouver — took the stage and immediately got the crowd head banging along.

Suffice it to say, I left Lucky with a ringing ears, and a shit-eating grin on my face!
