Sunday nights in Victoria aren’t usually known for rowdy punk shows, but September 25th was an exception. Ontario rockers The Dirty Nil were in town for a show with tourmates Dead Soft in tow, and locals Gutterbird and Sure opened up the night.
Lucky Bar filled up steadily as the night went on, and the Dirty Nil put on one hell of a show. Frontman Luke Bentham flailed around the stage with ease, dropping low and even chewing gum and blowing huge bubbles periodically throughout the set. Switching vocal duties with bassist David Nardi, the crowd was entranced by the chemistry of this raucous three-piece.
Never underestimate Victoria on a sleepy Sunday night – you might just end up at one of the most fun shows in months.
